Kalashnikov Concern has supplied a large batch of Saiga, Saiga-MK, and Saiga-308-1 rifled carbines to a foreign customer. The fulfillment of contractual obligations to the foreign partner was completed ahead of schedule.
The carbines retain the key advantages of the basic design. Models chambered for 5.45×39 and the Saiga-MK in .223 Rem caliber receive ten-round magazines in an extended body, folding polymer stocks, and a side rail for mounting optical sights. The forend features a Picatinny rail for attaching a flashlight or an additional grip. The design prevents firing with the stock folded.
The Saiga-308-1 is chambered for the .308 Win 7.62 mm cartridge. Engineers reinforced the receiver and recoil mechanism, based on the AK74M, to ensure stable operation with powerful hunting ammunition. This carbine is used for hunting, sports competitions, and training shooting.
The Saiga line, based on the Kalashnikov assault rifle, remains one of the most popular platforms for rifled civilian weapons in the world. The concern's production facilities are operating stably, without slowing down. The concern has been producing Saiga for the civilian market for 35 years.
