The United Aircraft Corporation and designers from the Mikoyan Bureau are developing the MiG-UTS training aircraft. The aircraft's design uses entirely domestic software.
A single-engine variant was chosen for the new MiG to reduce operating costs, Rostec noted.
The designers of the A.I. Mikoyan Design Bureau opted for the AI-222-25 power plant. Today, this engine is already actively used on the Yak-130 aircraft.
The basis for the new aircraft's cockpit was the MiG-AT cockpit, which performed well during testing.
However, the most anticipated fighter from the Mikoyan Bureau remains the MiG-41. The project's implementation timeline is unknown. The aviation industry allowed for the appearance of a new interceptor in the second half of the decade, but there is no official confirmation yet.
