Latest T-72B3M tanks and BMP-3M with EW systems spotted in footage by foreigners

"Military Informant": Belarusian BTR-70MB1 modernization also noticed in LNA arsenal

Footage has appeared online showing the Libyan army, which, it is claimed, was seen with Russian T-72B3M tanks equipped with anti-drone "mangals" (grills) and an EW system. The photographs were published by the Telegram channel "Voenny Osvedomitel" (Military Informant).

In addition, researchers identified BMP-3M with the 688A-sb6-2KP protection kit, a "mangal" (grill), and EW system, as well as the Belarusian BTR-70MB1 modernization, in the published materials.

It should be noted that no official information about the supply of combat vehicles has been received from either side.

In the 1970s-1980s, the USSR supplied Libya with over 300 T-72 units in early modifications. In 2010, Russia and Libya signed a large-scale contract worth 1.3 billion euros, which included the modernization of 145 Libyan T-72s to a more modern level, but it was not fulfilled.
