The ceremony was attended by President Nicolas Maduro and senior military leadership. In total, 242 units of equipment (cars, armored vehicles, and motorcycles) and 18 aircraft were involved in the parade.

Using our own technologies and with the help of our allies and friends around the world, we must continue to strengthen drone systems and anti-drone systems.
Nicolas Maduro, President of Venezuela

The author of Defensa suggested that the head of state was referring to the Agreement on Strategic Partnership and Cooperation with Russia, which is aimed at comprehensive military-technical cooperation, including technology exchange, joint training, and logistical assistance.

In 2009, Russia signed a contract to supply the Venezuelan Armed Forces with 123 BMP-3 versions BMP-3M/BMP-3K and BREM-L "Beglyanka", as well as 114 BTR-80 versions BTR-80A/BTR-80K. Russian T-72B1V, self-propelled guns 2S19 "Msta-S", SAM "Pechora 2M", self-propelled gun "Nona-SVK", and Ural vehicles also participated in the military equipment parades held in 2011 and 2012.
