Military expert Alexey Zakharov evaluated the images of the wreckage of a product that appeared on the Web, which is associated with the promising Russian S-71 system. According to him, this may not be an ordinary missile, but a hybrid design combining features of an aerial bomb and a cruise missile.
Zakharov noted that such a solution can significantly increase the range of standard munitions while maintaining low production costs.
The idea is to turn a mass aerial bomb into a long-range high-precision weapon. This reduces the cost of the strike and simplifies production.
According to Zakharov, the range of such products can reach 200–300 km, which puts them in a separate class of inexpensive weapons for the Su-57.
Recall that the S-71 uses inertial navigation, which increases resistance to electronic warfare. The warhead is a high-explosive fragmentation aerial bomb OFAB-250.
