Launch of Geran-5 Jet Drone Shown for the First Time on Victory Day

Footage of the new strike UAV with a range of up to 1000 km was demonstrated during the broadcast from Red Square

During the broadcast of the parade on Red Square, the Russian Ministry of Defence for the first time published a video of the launch of the Geran-5 jet unmanned aerial vehicle. In the footage, the drone, resembling a cruise missile, takes off from a long guide, after which a booster trolley separates from it.

The first mentions of the use of Geran-5 appeared in early 2026. According to available data, the new Russian strike drone is about six meters long, has a wingspan of 5.5 meters, and is capable of delivering a 90-kilogram payload over a distance of up to 1000 kilometers.

In addition, as part of the parade's video broadcast, viewers were shown footage of other combat systems that, for various reasons, could not participate in the mechanized column's passage — for example, the Voronezh long-range radar, the size of a nine-story building, the Knyaz Vladimir nuclear submarine missile carrier, and the Peresvet laser combat complex. .
