The main drawback of the "Yolka" interceptor drone, invulnerable to electronic warfare, has been named

Head of NPTs "Ushkuynik" Chadaev: the combat part of the UAV was sacrificed for speed

Russian "Yolka" interceptor drones have proven effective in combating unmanned aerial vehicles, but the absence of a warhead has become their key drawback. Alexey Chadaev, CEO of "Ushkuynik" company, explained this problem.

According to him, the main disadvantage of "Yolka" is its kinetic method of hitting aerial targets. The combat part in the interceptor was sacrificed for speed performance and the placement of technical devices on board.

I mean the platform with a neural network for recognition and targeting. And I would still bet on interceptors that have at least a small combat part.

Recall that, unlike an anti-aircraft missile, "Yolka" destroys drones by ramming. The interceptor's mass is 1.3 kg, and its capture and engagement range is up to 3 km.

The interceptor accelerates to 230 km/h. Electronic warfare systems are unable to jam "Yolka" — the control channel is simply absent.
