Lands in the DPR will be demined in a new way and returned to agriculture faster

Before clearing, plots will first be checked to immediately identify safe zones

The DPR is looking for a way to return agricultural lands to circulation faster: before demining, they want to first "scan" the fields and immediately separate safe areas from complex ones. The details were revealed by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture, Food and Processing Industry of the DPR, Artem Kramarenko.

In 2026, it is planned to demine 21 thousand hectares. However, the final volumes will depend on the complexity of the mine situation.

Kramarenko noted that the simplest areas have already been cleared, so further non-standard approaches will be required. In particular, the option of conducting technical reconnaissance before starting work is being considered.

The essence of the approach is to identify areas without explosive objects in advance, so that they can be immediately put into agricultural circulation. More complex zones with deep mining are planned to be separated and demined in stages, establishing a sequence.

Demining operations are carried out by employees of the mine action center of the Russian Armed Forces and specialists of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In addition to military risks, agro-climatic difficulties also remain for farmers, Kramarenko added.

Earlier it was reported that demining of agricultural lands is carried out in five stages. In 2025, almost 6 thousand hectares were cleared.
