Vitamins with a catch: Russia blocked thousands of sites with prohibited dietary supplements

Access restricted to more than 10.3 thousand internet resources

Rospotrebnadzor continues its large-scale work to identify and block internet resources offering prohibited biologically active additives (BAA) for sale in Russia. According to the latest data, access has already been restricted to more than 10.3 thousand such platforms.

This refers to websites and online store pages where information about the sale of products without state registration or with exceeding permissible substance content norms was posted.

Among the identified goods are supplements with high doses of vitamins. For example, some platforms offered NaturesPlus Vitamin D3 10,000 (60 capsules), as well as unregistered products such as "Artichoke extract, artichoke in capsules, 550 mg, 60 capsules" and "Izubr tails - tincture, 100 ml."

The agency emphasizes that such products can pose a health risk, as they do not undergo mandatory safety and quality checks.

Monitoring is carried out on an ongoing basis: specialists daily check advertisements, product cards, and online stores for prohibited products.

Rospotrebnadzor recommends purchasing dietary supplements only from official suppliers, always checking for registration documents, and avoiding dubious online platforms. In case of questions or suspicions, you can contact the territorial bodies of the agency or the hotline of the Unified Consulting Center.
