The tender for the sale of the Rizhsky Railway Station complex in Moscow has been declared invalid due to the absence of bids from potential buyers. The procedure was organized by authorized state bodies acting within the framework of the government's privatization order for the facility.
The deadline for applications was April 20, but no offers were received by that date. The starting price of the lot was 4 billion rubles, and the deposit amount was 409 million rubles. The lack of interest from investors led to the automatic cancellation of the auction.
The historic station complex, built in 1901, was put up for sale. The lot included the main building with an area of almost 4000 square meters, a two-story non-residential building built in 1929 with an area of more than 3700 square meters, as well as a land plot with a total area of 13,693 square meters. All structures are objects of regional cultural heritage, which obliges the future owner to comply with strict restoration requirements. The land is transferred not as ownership, but as a sublease.
The Russian government approved the sale of the station in February 2026 — the corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
