Uragan MLRS hit M777 howitzer with the first shell

If necessary, crews switch to single launches, but taking into account a dozen factors

The Uragan multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) spent only one shell to destroy the American-made M777 howitzer. The military explained why the combat vehicle, capable of hitting huge areas, switches to single launches.

Gunner Alexey N. explained that for an accurate shot, it is necessary to take into account dozens of factors – the specifics of the position, wind, air temperature, and the temperature of the shell itself, weighing almost 300 kg.

We destroyed the M777 howitzer. Hit it with the first shell. Right on target.
Roman D., commander of the Uragan MLRS crew

The Uragan is mounted on a four-axle chassis and equipped with 16 launchers for 220 mm rockets. At the same time, the system is capable of operating not only in salvo but also with single launches when adjusting fire.

A standard high-explosive shell carries a warhead weighing about 100 kg, and the maximum firing range reaches 35 km.
