The Kazan Aviation Plant named after Gorbunov (a branch of AO Tupolev, part of OAK) is seeking a milling machine operator with a salary starting from 290,000 rubles per month. The work schedule is two-shift, and rotational work is possible. The applicant must have secondary vocational education, work experience at grade 3 or higher, the ability to read drawings, and to work with measuring instruments.
Proficiency is required in horizontal milling and vertical milling machines (models 6R82, 1R80). The duties include manufacturing parts according to drawings, milling surfaces, slots, grooves, threads, and spirals, as well as mounting parts in vises, on rotary tables, and dividing heads.
At the same time, a process engineer at the same plant is offered from 66,000 rubles per month. The candidate is required to have higher technical education, the ability to read drawings, and to process design and technological documentation. The responsibilities include developing and improving technological processes.
HR experts predict that in 2026 demand for skilled workers will only continue to grow as part of import substitution objectives and the achievement of technological sovereignty. For example, in Ulyanovsk alone, more than 1,600 vacancies are open at enterprises, including for milling machine operators. According to estimates by the Center for Strategic Studies, 38% of qualified machine tool operators in the country are already over 55 and approaching retirement, while young personnel are not coming to replace them. Under these conditions, enterprises are forced to offer workers high salaries in order to attract and retain scarce specialists.
