Highly qualified welders in the Russian construction sector are earning up to half a million rubles per month. This was reported at the Siberian Construction Forum in Novosibirsk by Svetlana Kuzmenko, assistant to the Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of Russia, who emphasized the technological indispensability of welding work in the construction of bridges, industrial and residential facilities.
This is a very expensive profession, and the equipment is expensive. Construction is impossible without welding.
According to Kuzmenko, the growth of average wages in the industry is the result of the systematic work of the leadership of the construction sector. Without the use of welding, the implementation of most infrastructure projects is impossible — from bridge crossings to the frames of high-rise buildings and industrial complexes.
Kuzmenko, who oversees the federal program to popularize construction professions, "I am a Builder of the Future," noted the growing interest of young people in the industry. In particular, at universities in Novosibirsk, competition for architecture and civil engineering specialties has reached 3–4 applicants per state-funded place.
