Control valves for the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey are ready for shipment. A batch of Class 4 safety equipment was prepared for shipment by Tekhnoatom LLC. The delivery is carried out within the framework of a contract with NIKIMT-Atomstroy JSC, the general contractor for the construction of power units.
The equipment is intended for the technological systems of the future nuclear power plant. The valves belong to the category of products that ensure the safe operation of the power unit. Before shipment, the entire batch passed incoming inspection, testing and packaging in accordance with the requirements of the regulatory documentation of the nuclear industry.
Project Manager Alexandra Lebedeva noted that the team managed to complete the work in a short time thanks to the coordinated work of specialists and well-established production processes.
The construction of the Akkuyu NPP in Mersin Province is being carried out according to a Russian project with VVER-1200 reactors. The station will be the first nuclear facility in Turkey. Deliveries of Russian equipment are carried out in stages, in accordance with the schedule of construction and installation works.
The shipped batch of valves is already heading to the site. Next, the equipment will undergo acceptance procedures and will be installed in the design position.
