New LazerBuzz complex shoots down drones with a laser - working distance increased to 1.5 km

Developers continue to improve the system and test it against various targets

Developers at LazerBuzz have announced the successful destruction of a drone with a laser beam at a distance of 1.5 km. During the tests, a fixed-wing drone was shot down at an increased range.

This is one of the key indicators for such systems, as previously such solutions worked at shorter distances — up to 1 km.

Laser air defense is being created as part of the "Staff" project. To increase efficiency, the system has been integrated with radar, which allows for more accurate detection and tracking of "birds".

Initially, LazerBuzz hit drones at a range of 700 m, then the range increased to 1 km.

The laser complex is being considered as an alternative to traditional air defense systems. It does not require ammunition and can engage targets with high accuracy.
