The laser drone countermeasures system (project "Posokh"), after refinement, will be able to destroy FPV drones in three seconds from the moment the object is detected until its complete elimination. This was announced by Ivan Khovansky, director of the developer company LazerBuzz.
From the detection of an object to its complete destruction, you need to be in time within three seconds. As for the working distance, for laser systems that can be made compact, this is 600-700 m. The speed of destruction in three seconds is due to the fact that the worst-case scenario of destruction — is the burning of the drone's battery.
According to Ivan Khovansky, if the drone's battery ignites upon impact, there will be enough energy for the drone to fly another 300 meters or so. The laser will completely disable the battery.
The testing of the laser UAV countermeasures system is planned and will take place in the near future. In September, LazerBuzz announced the successful testing by the military of a laser system for remote demining of explosives.
