In China, local model makers have created a 1:1 scale mockup of the T-14 "Armata" tank. Footage of the full-size combat vehicle has appeared on social networks and messengers.
As of 2025, the "Armata" has not appeared in the troops as a replacement for the previous generation of combat vehicles T-72, T-80, and T-90. Journalists stated that it is currently at least irrational to rearm the army with a new tank model .
The T-14 received a 2A82 125 mm caliber gun, an unmanned turret, and a modern fire control system. The protection of the T-14 is provided by composite armor, the "Afganit" active protection system, and the "Malachite" dynamic protection.
In addition to mockups, Chinese engineers have already borrowed some developments on the "Armata" in promising armored vehicles, noted military expert Evgeny Damantsev. Mass production of the Type 100 main battle tank with artificial intelligence modules and an unmanned turret has started in China.
