The head of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), Dmitry Yadrov, criticized Azur Air for its formal approach to preparing aircraft for flights. He demanded that the action plan be revised to lift the restrictions on the operator's certificate.
On March 20, Azur Air sent Rosaviatsiya an action plan that included an audit of engineering and technical services and control of aircraft maintenance processes. The carrier also adjusted the flight program and updated data on operational activities.
Yadrov said that Rosaviatsiya promptly reviewed the documents from the carrier and returned them for revision.
The reason was the carrier's formal approach to airworthiness issues - this is unacceptable.
According to him, the airline must eliminate the comments and ensure high-quality maintenance of aircraft and timely delivery of components.
As a reminder, on March 12, Rosaviatsiya limited the validity of the operator's certificate. The document gives Azur Air the right to engage in commercial transportation. This decision was made after an unscheduled inspection by Rostransnadzor, during which violations of the law were revealed. If Azur Air does not eliminate the shortcomings, the certificate will be revoked on June 8, 2026.
The airline's fleet includes 23 Boeing aircraft of various types. According to information from open sources, only 50% of them are operated. At the same time, the carrier has repeatedly adjusted the flight schedule due to technical malfunctions of the aircraft.
