Boeing breaks down one after another: Azur Air's carrier certificate was cut after emergency landings en route from Vietnam and Thailand

The inspection revealed systemic violations in maintenance

Rosaviatsiya has limited the validity of Azur Air's operator certificate to June 8, 2026. The decision was made after an unscheduled inspection by Rostransnadzor, which revealed "systemic violations" in aircraft maintenance, sources familiar with the results of the inspection told Vedomosti.

According to the agency, if malfunctions were isolated in 2025, then since the beginning of 2026, the problems have become systemic. On January 23, a Boeing 757 operating the Phuket-Barnaul flight made an emergency landing in China after an engine failure. On January 28, the same aircraft, flying from Nha Trang to Irkutsk, made an emergency landing in Hanoi due to an oil leak. In early February, a Boeing 767 on a Phuket-Moscow flight failed to retract its landing gear doors, and the plane returned to the departure airport. On February 27, a Boeing 757 on a Phu Quoc-Kazan flight experienced engine surge — passengers heard pops and saw flashes of flame.

The airline has been instructed to strengthen safety control, conduct an internal audit of technical services, and reduce the flight program.

Earlier it was reported that Azur Air wants to conclude new contracts for the supply of Tu-214 and Tu-204 aircraft. As soon as the Tu-214 goes into series production and is provided with spare parts, the company intends to intensively operate it, reported Azur Air CEO Evgeny Korolev.
