Moscow engineers have developed a non-standard method for assembling the mechanized tunnel boring complex (TBM) "Olga" for the construction of the left running tunnel on the section between the "Novomoskovskaya" and "Sosenki" stations of the Troitskaya line. This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
According to the mayor, the length of the excavation pit for assembling the tunnel boring shield should exceed 100 m. The dimensions of the new section were only 30 m by 25 m.
Metro builders reduced the length of the TBM "Olga" from 106 m to 70 m.
And the machine itself was divided into parts, which were gradually lowered into the excavation pit as it moved forward. Inside the site, the complex moved not linearly, but along the walls, bending like a snake.
For the construction of the right running tunnel with the help of the TBM "Tatyana", it was necessary to solve a difficult task, since the space in the excavation pit was significantly reduced due to "Olga".
Engineers came up with a way to assemble the machine using a system of conveyors that collect the rock into a compact accumulator.
At the same time, the soil will be lifted to the surface with a grab (clamshell bucket). Thanks to this, there was room for the metro builders to move around in the excavation pit.
The "Novomoskovskaya" station on the "emerald" line was opened in 2024. The next station "Sosenki" will appear in 2029.
