The warship escorted the tanker "Anatoly Kolodkin" heading to Cuba, the Telegram channel "Military Informant" specified.
In the strait itself, the Russian sailors were caught up and escorted by the patrol ship HMS Mersey (P283) of the River class, belonging to the Royal Navy of Great Britain.
It should be reminded that Project 20380 corvettes are designed to solve a wide variety of tasks in the near sea zone, including the destruction of surface ships and submarines.
The armament of the corvettes includes the "Caliber" or "Yakhont" strike anti-ship complex, two "Kashtan-M" anti-aircraft missile and gun systems, and an A-190 artillery gun with a caliber of 100 mm.
The "Soobrazitelny"-type warships are being built at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant. The head of the Khabarovsk Territory, Dmitry Demeshin, noted that the enterprise has been loaded with military orders until 2028.
