The Russian fleet has begun escorting tankers through the English Channel, according to an analyst at Starboard Maritime Intelligence Ltd.
In an interview with All Exclusive channel, Mark Douglas stated that, according to the Automatic Identification System (AIS) data, the tankers SELVA and SIERRA passed through the English Channel synchronously with the corvette "Boyky" of project 20380 of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy.
Reportedly, this is the first recorded military escort in the strait. It is worth recalling that the Estonian Navy attempted to intercept the tanker JAGUAR in the Gulf of Finland on May 14, which resulted in the arrival of a Su-35S.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the military installed a new 107-mm MLRS on the chassis from "Bukhanka" UAZ-3303.
