The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) will create a list of inefficient shipyards and present it to the President of the Russian Federation and the government. This was announced by Andrey Kostin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of USC.
He acknowledged that the state of the industry needs major restructuring. There are shipyards that have no orders. But this topic requires a very careful approach to create a certain occupation and application for enterprises.
Take, for example, the Sevastopol plant, established back in 1783. It has no orders, it is engaged in minor ship repairs, there are already 200 employees left there. The vast majority of employees have been laid off, there are no orders, the plant has, in principle, nothing to do, and orders are unlikely to come.
Kostin cited enterprises built in the Far East in the 1930s as other inefficient shipyards.
