Irkutsk Aviation Plant has deployed a digital model of the MC-21-310 aircraft. The company has built a unified information space where design documentation, technical processes, and materials for training crews work in one system, according to the Russian government.
The digital model accelerates the production of equipment, enhances end-to-end quality control, and reduces production risks. The solution is among the top flagship projects of the "Aircraft Construction" industrial competence center, the Cabinet reminded.
A separate equipment monitoring circuit collects telemetry from machine tools in real time. Algorithms redistribute the load, prevent downtime, and shift the service from scheduled maintenance to repair based on the actual condition.
Production solutions were assessed during a visit to the enterprise by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko. He noted that industrial competence centers help create domestic IT systems for key industries, bringing together developers and major companies on one platform.
Thanks to this mechanism, when creating systems, it is possible to take into account the needs of the entire industry, and not just one customer. The result is the creation of comprehensive and high-quality IT products.
Nevertheless, the head of the design department of PJSC "Yakovlev" Ezhen Guryev noted that in fact we are not talking about a digital twin, but about a digital prototype. He emphasized that Russia already has a good foundation for describing aircraft systems in the digital environment, MC-21 and "Superjet".
