"ODK-Perm Motors" received a positive conclusion from the state expertise on the project documentation for the construction of a test bench for testing experimental PD-35 engines for a heavy military transport aircraft on March 11. This became known to the Novy Kompanion publication.
The open test bench in Perm will occupy an area of 16.6 hectares. The project received priority status in the Kama region, the investment volume is estimated at 3.7 billion rubles.
The new open stand will be the only facility of its kind in Russia. Perm Motors noted that the equipment planned for purchase for it is being developed and manufactured "in single copies." The construction of the stand will begin in 2026, and will be completed the following year.
The head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, noted that the state corporation expects to receive a type certificate for the PD-35 within two to three years. In the global market, the project will have to compete with products from Rolls-Royce, General Electric Aviation and Pratt & Whitney.
