The commissioning of the "Nikolai Zharkov" cruise ship, Project 00840, has been postponed by two months. The reason is the impossibility of conducting sea trials in the water area of the "Krasnoye Sormovo" plant (part of USC) due to difficult weather conditions and ice conditions in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The vessel was launched on July 11, 2025. The customer is Vodohod LLC, the project is being implemented with the support of GTLK. Previously, in April 2025, the schedule had already been adjusted: sanctions complicated the supply of components. To speed up the work, Vodohod took over part of the production tasks, including interior decoration.
Despite the time reserve allocated in the schedule for commissioning works, abnormal snowfalls and consistently low temperatures made the water area unsuitable for testing. According to weather observations, the snow cover in the region has reached record values.
The postponement will allow the completion of commissioning works in full and ensure that the vessel meets all operational requirements.
