The production program for long-haul wide-body Il-96-300 aircraft in Russia is in an uncertain state. The Comprehensive Development Program lists plans for 23 aircraft by 2035, but the situation is not so straightforward.
Rosaviatsiya stated that this figure is \"an exclusively internal forecast.\" Rostec and the Ministry of Industry and Trade declined to comment.
According to the original KPGA through 2030, deliveries of 14 of these aircraft were expected. A presentation made by Rosaviatsiya at the National Aviation Infrastructure Show in February indicated that the delivery dates for new aircraft were shifted to 2035, and the total number of Il-96-300 aircraft will increase to 23.
Let us recall that over the past 10 years in Russia, only five Il-96-300 units have been built. The airliners are built at the aircraft plant in Voronezh (VASO, part of PAO \"Il\" Rostec), but over the past two years not a single aircraft has taken to the air from the enterprise.
Oleg Panteleev, executive director of the Aviaport agency, stated that the Il-96-300 with four PS-90A engines is of interest to government structures; its production will continue, but at a moderate pace.
