The "Russian Helicopters" Holding of the Rostec State Corporation has delivered the first batch of Mi-38PS multi-purpose helicopters, manufactured at the Kazan Helicopter Plant, to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
Now the department has the entire line of machines from the Kazan Helicopter Plant of our "Russian Helicopters": Mi-8, "Ansat" and Mi-38. The new Mi-38PS, when equipped with additional tanks, can fly a record distance of up to 1500 km, which is especially important for operating in the vast territories of the Arctic zone. In addition, for the first time for helicopters of this class, a water discharge device and a suspended sprayer are provided for combating pollution and fires.
The machines became the first to be specially designed and built to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for performing tasks to ensure safety in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and along the Northern Sea Route.
The helicopters are designed to protect the population, territories and critical infrastructure facilities from natural and man-made emergencies.
The Mi-38PS is equipped with modern avionics and navigation systems, which significantly increase the reliability of flights in difficult weather conditions. Medical modules (single or double) can be installed on board, allowing for the evacuation of the sick and injured. Thanks to the installed winch, the helicopter is capable of performing rescue operations without landing.
In the cabin, the machine can carry up to 40 passengers or up to 5000 kg of cargo on an external sling.
