The Il-96-300 wide-body aircraft, mastered in production, with four PS-90A engines, is of interest to government agencies, and its production will continue, but at a moderate pace. This was stated by Oleg Panteleev, Executive Director of the Aviaport agency.
Presumably, the main customer for this aircraft will be government agencies, primarily the "Russia" special flight detachment.
Over the past 10 years, Russia has built only five Il-96-300 units. The aircraft are built at the Voronezh Aviation Plant (VASO, part of PJSC Il of Rostec), but no aircraft has taken to the air from the enterprise in the last two years.
VASO plans to expand the test runway. These intentions are likely related to the expansion of the Il-96 series production program.
