At the Nefteflot shipbuilding yard, installation work on auxiliary diesel generators on two Project 04790 "Sommers-L" vessels (yard numbers 110 and 111) was successfully completed and presented to representatives of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS). At the same time, identification of the diesel-reduction gear units was carried out.
The work was carried out under the technical supervision of RS. The company's press service noted that construction is continuing strictly according to schedule.
The contract for the construction of two modern passenger catamarans of Project 04790 was signed on December 9, 2022, between ZAO "Nefteflot" and AO "State Transport Leasing Company" (GTLK). The potential lessee and operator of the vessels is the company "Neva Travel".
The catamarans are intended for passenger transportation along inland waterways and in the coastal sea areas of the Russian Federation.
The installation of auxiliary diesel generators became an important stage in outfitting the vessels' power systems. This brings the project closer to the next key stages — mooring and sea trials.
Main characteristics of the Project 04790 "Sommers-L" catamaran:
- length — about 38 m
- beam — about 9.5 m
- engine power — 2 × 400 kW
- speed — at least 10 knots
- passenger capacity — about 300 people.
