Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) has begun testing new models of cars with diesel engines. This was reported in the press service of the manufacturer to the automotive magazine Motor.
The company's engineers are tuning the engine control unit to ensure its correct operation at negative temperatures. During the tests, special attention is paid to the operation of the turbocharger, catalytic converter and particulate filter in normal mode and under regeneration conditions.
In parallel with this, work is underway to configure the electronics of cars. At the test sites, specialists calibrate the functions of cruise control and the maximum speed limiting system.
The debut of diesel models UAZ «Patriot», «Pickup» and commercial van «Profi» with 6-speed manual transmissions is expected at the end of the second — beginning of the third quarter of 2026.
