The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant plans to start selling a new body-on-frame seven-seat SUV in early 2026. Sollers' investments in the project in 2025 will exceed 4 billion rubles.
The manufacturer has already approved the interior and exterior of the new product; the interior was developed taking into account the wishes of Russian drivers. The engine and other units have been adapted to operating conditions and Russian fuel. Road tests and possible modifications are ahead.
The basis of the SUV is the JAC T9 pickup. It will receive a two-liter turbo engine (200 hp), an eight-speed automatic transmission and an electric drive for the rear doors.
Earlier www1.ru reported that it was not AvtoVAZ that froze the date of mass production of Lada Iskra.
