The Russian company "Sverkh" has presented an updated version of the world's smallest drone with artificial intelligence. This was reported by the NTI "Aeronet."
In the new modification, the developers have expanded the capabilities of the drone, equipping it with a radio navigation module, a face recognition system, and an automatic follow-me function.
The radio navigation module and optical flow sensor improve the drone's performance in enclosed spaces (warehouses and production areas). Now, the drone can stably maintain its position in the air even in low light conditions or without a satellite signal.
The onboard computing module provides performance up to 1 trillion operations per second (1 TOPS). This allows all tasks to be performed without transferring data to servers.
The face recognition system functions in real time, providing stable tracking of a person in the frame. In case of a temporary loss of visibility, the algorithms predict their trajectory and restore tracking or switch to active search mode.
The drone is designed not only for surveillance but also for inventory in logistics centers — it is capable of recognizing barcodes and QR codes. In the updated version, the frame has been reinforced, the electronics have been optimized, and the possibility of installing additional batteries has been added, which allows increasing the flight time without recharging.
The weight of the drone is only 85 grams.
