The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) successfully completed testing of the M-503B marine engine after a major overhaul. The holding's specialists carried out a full inspection of the unit to identify parts requiring repair and replacement.
The refurbished M-503B engine will be sent to the customer to continue service on a surface warship.
After all the necessary procedures, the engine successfully completed the run-in.
The M-503B is a 42-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine. It belongs to the famous M-500 family and is known for its high specific power and compactness.
The engine is four-stroke, with gas-turbine supercharging and a reverse system, and is intended for boats and small ships. The unit is installed, in particular, on minesweepers.
