The company "ODK-Aviadvigatel" (part of the United Engine Corporation) handed over two new EGES-25PA gas-turbine power units with a total capacity of 50 MW to PAO "Sakhalinenergo." The equipment will be installed as part of the sixth power unit under construction at Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk CHP-1.
The power units were developed on the basis of PS-90A2 aircraft engines. The installations provide electricity generation for industrial and residential facilities. Their efficiency reaches 37.2%, while the fuel heat utilization factor is 86.3%. The equipment withstands seismic loads of up to 9 points and operates on natural gas and associated petroleum gas.
The start of operation of two more power units will increase the station's installed capacity to 498.6 MW. This will make it possible to solve the issue of covering peak loads in Sakhalin's power system.
The EGES-25PA units were delivered as blocks with full factory readiness. This format makes it possible to reduce the time required for installation, commissioning, and putting them into operation. Large-block assembly reduces the volume of construction work on site and lowers technological risks.
PS-90A engines are used in a number of domestic aircraft, including the Il-96-400, Il-76MD-90A, and Tu-214.
