Rostec showed rare footage of the operation of the universal MTU-90M tank bridge layer on the T-90 chassis. The unique vehicle was created at Uralvagonzavod, and it is in service with the engineering troops.
The state corporation noted that the MTU-90M is mainly used when, during combat operations, it is necessary to quickly overcome a ravine, ditch, or river.
The three-section folding MTU-90M bridge made of high-strength structural steel withstands a load of up to 60 tons and has a length of 20 m. The space between the beams is covered with panels, allowing not only tracked but also wheeled vehicles to move across the bridge.
The bridge deployment time is 2.5 minutes, and the vehicle's level of protection is the same as that of the base T-90 tank. The crew can deploy the bridge without even leaving the cabin. The fighting compartment is fully sealed and has protection against radioactive and chemical contamination of the area.
