In Russia, unmanned trucks will be protected from hackers

New functions will be introduced into the system based on "ERA-GLONASS"

The Unified Identification System for Unmanned Transport based on ERA-GLONASS (automated information system for emergency response in case of accidents) will introduce protection against cyberattacks. This was announced by Alexey Raikevich, General Director of JSC GLONASS.

We are talking about a mechanism for the centralized forced stopping of unmanned transport in the event of emergencies.
Alexey Raikevich, General Director of JSC GLONASS

Raikevich emphasized that the Ministry of Transport of Russia is the first in the world to develop legal regulation for unmanned vehicles. At the same time, experiments are underway with robot trucks on the M-11 "Neva", M-4 "Don", and TsKAD highways. Thus, the gap between the introduction of digital technologies and their regulation is eliminated, he added.

Currently, 95 unmanned trucks are connected to ERA-GLONASS. All autonomous heavy trucks are participating in the experiment.
