At an exhibition dedicated to the development of unmanned technologies, the Russian company Cognitive Pilot demonstrated an innovative mini-tractor to Russian President Vladimir Putin — the world's first multifunctional, fully unmanned unit without a cabin. The device is capable of performing key agricultural operations even in the complete absence of a satellite navigation signal, including areas of electronic warfare.
The development is entirely domestic: production is located at the company's factory in Tomsk. The unit performs operations such as sowing, cultivation, harrowing, plowing, and spraying with an accuracy of up to 1–2 cm. Instead of traditional navigation systems, it uses computer vision based on artificial intelligence: video cameras allow it to "see" the surrounding environment, build trajectories, and make decisions in real time.
A special advantage of the new product is its complete independence from an operator, which solves the acute personnel problem in the agricultural sector. The equipment can operate around the clock and in group mode, which is especially important during narrow agro-technological windows limited by weather conditions.
The design of the robot tractor is as simple as possible: there are no swivel joints, gearbox, or complex suspension elements, which reduces maintenance costs and increases reliability.
