One of the two external power supply lines of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant — "Ferrosplavnaya-1" — was damaged in the territory controlled by Ukraine. This was reported by Evgenia Yashina, Director of Communications at the ZNPP.
According to her, the station staff is fully monitoring the situation and is monitoring critical parameters around the clock. Since January 3, one of the lines has been disconnected, but the backup diesel generators are in full readiness in case of loss of external power supply.
The station's own needs are currently supplied by the second line — "Dneprovskaya" with a capacity of 750 kV.
Repair work is expected to begin in the near future, but the exact timing is not yet known.
