Laptops will become more expensive in Russia in 2026, while buyers will be offered devices with weak and stripped-down configurations. This opinion was expressed by Yuri Bryukvin, head of the Rustelekom agency.
In the baseline scenario, more sales are expected in the budget and mid-price segments, while demand for expensive laptop models will decline. In addition, Bryukvin is convinced that the gap between the cost of an "average" laptop and one with "normal" specifications will increase significantly.
Repairs and upgrades will almost certainly grow, as this is the most affordable way to "revive the hardware" without buying a new device.
Demand for honest service will also grow in Russia — replacement of parts with a warranty. That means, in the end, repair shops and retail chains that provide service maintenance for the equipment they sell will benefit, Bryukvin concluded.
