The first photo of a Russian T-90M "Proryv" tank in designer anti-drone protection has appeared online. To protect the vehicle from threats from the sky, the authors of the concept, like many others before them, used steel cables. But they approached the task creatively: the result of their work combines elegance with practicality.
Field engineers made umbrellas on long legs from unraveled cables, using steel supports and guy wires to place them far beyond the vehicle's dimensions.
The result is an openwork structure that does not obstruct visibility or gun aiming, but keeps FPV drones away from the tank.
This A2/AD zone on tracks resembles a six-meter steel dandelion. There is suspicion that the elegant "barn roof" will not fit within the dimensions of courtyard driveways and tunnels, but it is flexible and will improve the crew's survivability.
Recall that "Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" already wrote about dandelion-shaped tank protection in November 2025, having found it in the depths of FIPS. However, now we can see that practice and theory are moving in the same direction.
