Any request from unknown individuals to transfer biometric data, including remotely, indicates fraud. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The ministry emphasized that citizens must remain vigilant and not give their data to anyone. If a Russian citizen has nevertheless fallen victim to fraudsters, they should contact their bank and block all accounts and cards.
However, you should call not the phone number that arrived in an SMS message, but the one listed on the official website of the credit institution. In addition, the victim of the criminals will have to promptly change all passwords, including access to the Gosuslugi portal.
Then you need to contact the police and report the attempted theft of funds, and to Roskomnadzor about the unlawful processing of biometric data.
