The Arbitration Court of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO) ordered JSC "UEC-Gas Turbines" to pay "Samotlorneftegaz" 143.9 million rubles for the supply of substandard equipment. The dispute concerned a gas compressor station worth 4.4 billion rubles, supplied under a 2016 contract.
The court found that the units did not reach the guaranteed parameters during testing. Engines, multipliers, and installation units repeatedly failed — three gas turbine engines broke down twice each. The buyer reported factory defects and in 2023 demanded the payment of fines.
"UEC-Gas Turbines" refused to pay, citing the expired warranty period. However, the court found that the plant's specialists continued to participate in installation supervision, recorded defects, and acknowledged factory defects.
Also, in 2022, the customer officially suspended the running of the warranty period, which allows it to be extended in case new defects are discovered.
Initially, "Samotlorneftegaz" demanded 372 million rubles in fines and penalties, later the amount increased to 421 million. The court took into account the defendant's arguments about the disproportionality of the penalty and reduced the claims: the fine was reduced from 221.9 million to 44.3 million, the penalty — from 199.1 million to 99.5 million. The decision has not yet entered into legal force.
As a reminder, "UEC-Gas Turbines" is part of the United Engine Corporation of GC "Rostec" — the main manufacturer of aircraft engines for civil and military aircraft.
