Sales of new electric vehicles in Russia decreased by 30% in 2025 compared to the previous year, totaling 13,500 units. This was reported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, citing data from the analytical company PPK, which is part of the JSC "Electronic Passport" group.
According to the ministry's information, based on data from the electronic vehicle passport system, the market for new electric vehicles decreased from 19,400 to 13,500 units in a year.
Despite the overall decline in sales, domestic manufacturers have significantly strengthened their positions: the share of electric vehicles produced in Russia increased to 32%, which is 10 percentage points higher than in 2024.
Experts attribute the sales decline to a limited selection of models, difficulties in supplying components, and a reduction in government support for electric transport development programs. At the same time, domestic manufacturers such as "Moskvich" and "AvtoVAZ" continue to develop the segment, introducing new electric modifications of popular models to the market.
