Sales of new Russian-made cars in 2025 showed growth, despite the difficult economic situation. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the market reached 831.25 thousand cars, which is 0.2% higher than in 2024.
Particularly noticeable figures were in December: sales increased by 22.6% compared to the same month last year, amounting to 92.7 thousand cars.
The analytical company PPK, part of the JSC "Electronic Passport" group, clarifies that the data is based on the electronic vehicle passport system. Experts note that the stable growth in sales of domestic cars is associated with the expansion of the model range and improved logistics within the country.
At the same time, imported equipment showed a significant decrease: about 664.5 thousand cars were sold during the year, which is 34% less than in 2024. In December, sales of imported cars amounted to 62.8 thousand units, down 11% from last year.
The share of Russian equipment in the market continues to grow. At the end of 2025, it increased by 11 percentage points and reached 56%, and almost reached 60% in December. Experts note that the trend reflects the gradual recovery of domestic production and a shift in demand towards local brands.
