The Ministry of Internal Affairs named the standard phrases of fraudsters posing as telecom operators

These messages often accompany attempts to lure out authorization codes

The Ministry of Internal Affairs named the phrases most often used by fraudsters posing as telecom operators. The information is reported by TASS on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Employees of the department reported that attacks usually begin with luring out the authorization code on the "Gosuslugi" portal and imitating an account hack. Fraudsters often use the following phrases:

  •  "Your number is expiring - urgently confirm your data."
  • "It is necessary to extend the contract on special conditions"
  • "Your number will be blocked within an hour"

The Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed that when hearing any of these phrases, you should immediately stop communicating. Telecom operators do not request codes from SMS and never ask to report them to third parties.
