Russian Geran-2 kamikaze drones have been improved again for more effective combat missions. A photo of a drone with an infrared spotlight has appeared online.
Apparently, the device is necessary to blind the sensors of antiaircraft FPV interceptors. On approach, the spotlight is activated, after which the drone pursuing the \"Geran\" loses its orientation.
The improvement of the Geran-2 is almost continuous, kamikaze drones have turned into a powerful, long-range and high-precision means of destruction. They have already received an increased warhead, began to be equipped with jet engines, videocameras and an autoguiding module.
According to preliminary estimates, the monthly production of Geran-2 drones in Russia has reached a stable level of 6500-7500 units.
