Mi-34M1 is a deeply modernized version of the Mi-34S family helicopter. The new model is equipped with fully Russian systems, including the VK-650V engine, the first domestic power unit for light helicopters with a take-off weight of up to 4 tons. The engine was developed in a short time and is ready for mass production. It is equipped with a modern digital automatic control system that increases the reliability and efficiency of flights.

During the first test flight, specialists checked the stability and controllability of the machine, and also determined the loads on the main units in horizontal flight and when performing turns.

According to Sergey Chemezov, General Director of Rostec, the Mi-34M1 is highly maneuverable and easy to pilot and maintain. The helicopter is designed for passenger transportation, training and sports flights, as well as monitoring territories.

Rostec stated that the Mi-34M1 will occupy a niche where foreign models have so far dominated. Their operation in the current environment has become expensive and unsafe due to the lack of official maintenance. The new helicopter will allow Russia to completely replace imported machines of this class.
