Over the year, the biometric control system implemented at Moscow airports has screened out approximately 45,000 migrants (almost 10% of the total number of incoming foreigners). This was announced by the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin.
According to him, the system identifies individuals whose presence is undesirable in Russia. This includes those who have violated the law.
Sobyanin reported that Moscow's experiment on controlling the entry of migrants was deemed successful.
A decision has been made to extend it to other regions so that we can see who is entering and leaving our country along the entire perimeter.
Currently, this issue is being considered in a commission led by Deputy Head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, the Moscow Mayor summarized.
