"Amina" for migrants: digital registration of foreign specialists launched in the capital region

Migrants will have to remotely notify the internal affairs bodies of their place of residence via the application

A pilot project for the mandatory registration of labor migrants from visa-free countries through the "Amina" mobile application will begin in Moscow and the Moscow region on September 1. It will affect citizens entering for the first time for labor purposes, as well as those who are extending their registration.

According to the rules of the experiment, foreign citizens will have to remotely notify the internal affairs bodies of their place of residence via the application. When changing the address, a notification must be sent within three working days. The absence of geolocation data within this period will lead to removal from migration registration.

The experiment is approved until 2029. It does not apply to minors, citizens of Belarus, diplomats and employees of international organizations.

The "Amina" application is available for download only in the RuStore store and is compatible with Android 7.0+ and Harmony OS 3 operating systems. To date, it has been downloaded more than 200,000 times. According to user reviews in RuStore as of August 28, there are technical problems in the application, including incorrect geolocation and authorization errors.

As reported on the website of the Multifunctional Migration Center, in the future it will also be possible to pay for a patent through the application. The goal of the pilot project is to digitize migration services.
